New Vector Edgebander
Edgebanding in all Shapes and Sizes
Lambson Building Products and Laminated Products have brought in a new Vector contour edgebanding machine to their Castleford manufacturing facility. This investment is an integral part of their planned component development strategy for the caravan, shopfitting and furniture manufacturing industries.
The Vector is a high quality, non-linear, edge processing machine and is capable of apply edging material to composite boards in almost any shape and size. This equipment is a significant technological step forward, allowing Lambson Building Products and Laminated Products to produce a higher standard of customer specific, fully finished panel products.
Development and Technical Director Marcus Langley said:
“The new Vector machine is exactly the sort of equipment we needed to push the company forward. It gives us the ability to produce high volume components with maximum manufacturing efficiency.
“The Vector is perfect for producing components for caravans, marine craft and shopfitting but it will also help us break into the flat-pack furniture market.”
The Vector is ideal for traditional component manufacturing or ‘nested’ components, can utilise MDF, plywood, chipboard or blockboard and gives an increased capacity for the edging of shaped panels.
Concluding, Marcus said:
“The company has a development strategy in place which includes an additional 7,500 sq. ft. facility to accommodate the latest CNC and edgebanding equipment. Adding the Vector brings us one step closer to having a fully integrated component and panel production facility and the next few months will see further improvement in our factory.”
